Boating careers at the Paynesville Classic
Join BIAV and Boating Careers at the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally & Maritime Festival from March 1-3, 2024. This award-winning, free event is set to draw over 10,000 visitors with a diverse fleet of classic boats; Tall Ships, sailing vessels, classic motorboats, skiffs, fishing boats, small crafts and more.

Digital jobs for manufacturing
BIAV manufacturing members may be interested in a grant, up to $5k, from the Victorian Government to enrol a nominated employee in a 12-week online, part-time industry endorsed digital skills course such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital marketing, web and application development, and more. Women in energy and manufacturing
This Victorian Government program provides funding for initiatives that increase the participation of women in the manufacturing sector. This could be through initiatives such as training for employers to create more inclusive workplaces, improvements to workplace facilities and safety policies, women’s networks, leaderships programs, scholarships for women, vouchers for buying tools, and other initiatives. Ready for growth
Growth stage BIAV members may be interested in this Victorian Government program which provides tailored advice to Victorian businesses with high growth potential to access new markets or create jobs. The program will help businesses to develop a growth action plan, build capabilities for growth, find grants and programs to support growth, improve connections to networks and ecosystems, and connect to peers through the Ready for Growth Alumni Network. Steam Tug Wattle restoration appeal
BIAV member, Bay Steamers is making great progress toward their financial model, and the Steam Tug WATTLE Restoration Appeal. Community support has been outstanding, and they are grateful to the donors to date, and the $160,000 received, in pursuit of the $205,000 target.
The funds are required to book the slip-yard for slipping, repainting, final fit-out, and preparation for getting back on Port Phillip and into the tourism, education, and historical vessel spaces.

Goulburn Murray – recreational boater survey
Each year GMW seeks feedback from recreational boating users in the form of their annual Recreational User Survey. For 2023/2024 they are keen to learn more about how, why, when and where visitors, local community and businesses interact with GMW and our storages.
BIAV has completed the 10 minute survey and emphasised boat ramps, parking, access to the water, safety, and communications as key issues/priorities. If you boat, fish, sail or cruise at Hume, Eppalock, Eildon or another GMW catchment, please have your say by CLICKING HERE.
