Mercury Marine has announced the opening of its cutting-edge Mercury Marine Training Centre, the first of its kind for the company in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Mercury Marine Training Centre offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience focused on the latest Mercury Outboard and MerCruiser engine technologies.

Trainees will gain valuable knowledge in advanced diagnostics, electrical and propulsion systems, and engine maintenance, all under the guidance of expert instructors.

The facility also emulates a premier-standard Mercury service centre, setting a new benchmark for technical excellence and customer service.

“Opening the Training Centre has been a long-standing ambition of ours, as we aim to ensure our marine technicians deliver exceptional service to our valued customers,” Senior Field Service Manager, Trevor Henri said.

“The Mercury Marine Training Centre is unique in its comprehensive, hands-on learning approach, enabling technicians to master the latest Mercury outboard and MerCruiser engine systems while learning from Mercury’s industry experts.

“It also provides technicians with the opportunity to work with the latest diagnostic tools and experience the full range of Mercury engine product, from small horsepower portables, up to the latest advanced marine engine V10 and V12 Outboards.”

The Mercury Marine Training Centre will allow trainees to gain valuable hands-on experience.

The training centre will be able to accommodate 12 technicians per course, with the smaller group approach ensuring all technicians get exposed to the product and hands on experience.

As part of the training centre, Mercury is offering an industry transition program, a unique initiative designed to address the shortage of skilled marine technicians. This program offers a streamlined pathway for individuals eager to enter this high-demand trade.

In addition, the training centre provides flexible learning options with a single-travel certification, which includes a three-day block course focused on either outboard or MerCruiser engines, as well as a five-day combined course, available monthly during the training season – 1 April to 31 October.

“With the marine industry evolving rapidly, Mercury Marine is committed to empowering technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the field,” Trevor said.

“This world-class training centre ensures that Mercury dealers and service providers have access to the very best in education and hands-on experience, reinforcing Mercury Marine’s reputation for quality, performance and innovation.”
