Incat Tasmania has once again been named one of Australia’s Best Managed Companies as part of Deloitte Private’s Best Managed Companies program for 2024, marking the second consecutive year the company has received this prestigious honour.
This back-to-back recognition, that saw Incat recognised as one of six top-performing Australian businesses, places Incat among an elite group of private companies that demonstrate exceptional business performance, sustained growth, and a commitment to organisational excellence.
The program evaluates companies against four key pillars: strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities and innovation, and governance and financials.
Incat’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Casey, said the recognition reflects the leadership culture embedded across the company.
“From our Managing Directors to our Team Leaders on the production floor, leadership at Incat is not about hierarchy – it’s about accountability, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future,” Mr Casey said.
“This award highlights the strength of our people and the culture they create every day. We are proud to be leading the way in shipbuilding innovation, sustainability, and workforce development, and this recognition further motivates us to raise the bar.”
Incat Managing Director Craig Clifford, who accepted the award on behalf of the company at the official ceremony, said it was a proud moment for everyone involved.
“To receive this award for a second-year running is an incredible endorsement of the hard work and unity shown across all levels of the organisation,” Mr Clifford said.
“Our commitment to sound financial governance, continuous improvement, and long-term sustainable growth has never been stronger. It’s an honour to accept this on behalf of a team that consistently delivers excellence.”
The Best Managed Companies program, established in Canada in 1993 and now run in more than 45 countries, celebrates private companies that set the benchmark in business management and innovation. Australia’s program continues to shine a light on the entrepreneurial spirit and operational excellence of leading private enterprises like Incat.
The achievement adds to Incat’s growing list of accolades, including eight Tasmanian Export Awards and the 2022 Tasmanian Training Awards’ Large Employer of the Year, and the Silver Award in the Australian Apprenticeships Employer Award category at the 2024 Australian Training Awards.
