I have had a long great life - Russell Dunbier
We are saddened to advise that Russell Dunbier, the founder of Dunbier Marine – Dunbier Boat Trailers and Mackay Boat Trailers has passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer.
Still positive and giving orders until the end, Russell is a legend of the Australian boating industry, founding and building the largest boat trailer empire in Australia.
Surrounded by current family members running the companies today, in 1969 Russell created a successful boat trailer brand – Dunbier – manufacturing and supplying boat trailers throughout five distribution centres across Australia. 10 years ago, he expanded the business by adding Mackay Custom Boat Trailers to the group, building the current management team and experience to the highest standards.
An engineer without a certificate, Russell was particular in the end designs and quality, his strength and vision of continual growth making Dunbier the company it is today.
Outside of the company, Russell is survived by his wife Kay Dunbier, his two daughters Michelle Reid and Tracy Jackson, his five grandchildren and his sons-in-law Duncan Reid and Matt Jackson.
We will miss him dearly, but Russell has set the pace and in his words – the show must go on!
