ABOUT JONES BAY SUPERYACHT MARINA
As part of our partnership, Jones Bay Superyacht Marina has embraced initiatives that align with our environmental objectives, such as their collaboration with Seabin. The marina has become the first official host marina for Seabin’s Smart City program in Sydney, operating five Seabins that have removed over 7055 Kilograms of marine litter and an estimated 1.32 million plastic items from Sydney Harbour since 2022.
Melissa White, Director of the South Pacific chapter at SeaKeepers, expressed her excitement about this new partnership: “We are delighted to partner with Jones Bay Superyacht Marina. Their proactive approach to sustainability and environmental stewardship makes them an excellent fit for our mission. Through this collaboration, we aim to enhance research and citizen science initiatives, contributing significantly to the conservation of marine ecosystems in Australia and around the world.”
“At Jones Bay Superyacht Marina, we are deeply committed to ocean conservation and are inspired by the invaluable work of the International SeaKeepers Society in advancing marine research, education, and sustainability. Through our strategic partnership, we aim to amplify their mission, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship within the superyacht community and promoting a collective commitment to protecting our oceans for future generations.” Nairn Johnston CMM – General Manager.
The DISCOVERY Yacht Program, our flagship initiative, will benefit from this partnership as we leverage Jones Bay Marina’s facilities and community to support at-sea expeditions. These expeditions, conducted on privately owned vessels, enable scientists and educators to maximise their research efforts and outreach without the high costs of vessel charters.
Jones Bay Superyacht Marina’s dedication to environmental responsibility and their support of The International SeaKeepers Society will play a pivotal role in promoting ocean conservation. We invite other marinas and yachting enthusiasts to join us in these vital efforts to protect our oceans for future generations.

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SEAKEEPERS SOCIETY
The International SeaKeepers Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organisation that facilitates oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. Providing educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students is the primary focus for ensuring the wellbeing of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the yachting community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
Founded in Monaco in 1998, The International SeaKeepers Society has been supporting ocean conservation through direct involvement with the yachting community for more than twenty-five years. What started as a data collection program aboard select luxury yachts, has evolved to engage thousands of participants annually with at-sea and coastal programming. Today SeaKeepers’ mission is focused on the DISCOVERY Yacht Program which is comprised of Scientist-Led Expeditions, Citizen Science, Educational Outreach, and Community Engagement.
As a catalyst working with governments, scientists, institutions, and other marine organisations to further its mission, SeaKeepers supports sensible, achievable marine protection and restoration. Activities take place globally through the efforts of headquarters based in the United States with offices located on the east and west coast, and international representation in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the South Pacific.
