Slovenian nautical startup VisionAnchor has achieved remarkable success at boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest boat show. The company’s innovative VisionAnchor S buoy won the nautical pitching competition organised by Yachting Ventures and the European Boating Industry (EBI), earning them a free stand for all 9 days at next year’s boot Düsseldorf, worth over €3,000.
The pitching competition featured strong contenders from across the nautical industry. Competing alongside VisionAnchor were Zparq AB – Jonas Genchel, BatteryCheck – Michal Sastinsky, Level Hydrofoils – Arthur Yanai and OTTER BIKE – Gian Zimmermann.
VisionAnchor: Revolutionising Anchoring Solutions
VisionAnchor is on a mission to enhance anchoring safety through innovation. Their VisionAnchor S buoy, enables vessel owners with boats ranging from 8 to 25 meters to anchor both safely and intelligently using cutting edge GPS technology. This smart buoy is currently available for purchase on their website, visionanchor.net. Plans are also underway to launch rental services in Slovenia and Croatia this summer.
Recognition and Future Plans
The startup has garnered significant recognition, receiving awards from prominent organisations such as EIT Digital and the European Space Agency (ESA). Additionally, VisionAnchor was a participant in the renowned Techstars global startup accelerator in Turin, Italy, last year.
Looking ahead, VisionAnchor aims to ramp up production in Slovenia and expand into new markets, including the United States and Australia. To support these goals, the company is actively seeking additional investment.
