The International SeaKeepers Society (SeaKeepers), a non-profit organisation dedicated to facilitating oceanographic research through direct involvement with the yachting and boating community, is excited to host the inaugural event for its South Pacific Chapter. This exclusive evening will spotlight the chapter’s dedication to ocean conservation, research, and education in the region, bringing together marine scientists, yachting enthusiasts, and ocean advocates to celebrate its initiatives and forge meaningful connections for a sustainable future.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 5 March 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM NZDT at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, located at 181 Westhaven Drive, Westhaven Marina, Auckland 1011, New Zealand. This intimate gathering, with limited attendance, offers an elegant evening of connection and purpose.
Attendees will reflect on past achievements while charting a course for the future of ocean science in the South Pacific region. The event will showcase SeaKeepers’ regional expansion and its growing impact on ocean conservation, made possible through partnerships with the yachting community.
The International SeaKeepers Society is committed to promoting oceanographic research, conservation, and education by engaging the yachting community. Through the use of privately owned vessels as platforms for oceanographic research, educational outreach, and marine conservation, SeaKeepers empowers the yachting community to advance marine sciences and increase awareness of global ocean issues.
Headquartered in New Zealand, the South Pacific Chapter provides a hub for scientist-led expeditions, citizen science initiatives, educational outreach, and community engagement projects. Vessel owners are invited to support marine research and conservation by offering time on their vessels or participating in citizen science programs.
