Get aboard for the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship
Staged by Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC), the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship is set to take place 23-24 November.
MHYC’s well-loved regatta is celebrating its 47th anniversary in 2024 and will be the first chance of an offshore hit-out this Sydney regatta season. The start of the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship will be a passage race sailed either to Lion Island (in a northerly breeze) or Cape Baily (in a southerly) on the Saturday. Two offshore windward-leeward races are planned for the Sunday.
The regatta is a key part of Nautilus Marine Insurance’s partnership with MHYC, which also includes supporting the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Harbour Regatta (set to take place 1-2 March 2025). “Nautilus Marine Insurance’s partnership with MHYC significantly elevates the profile of our club and the two major regattas we run each year,” says MHYC CEO Andrew Forbes. “Their ongoing support is a tremendous asset not only to these events but also to the broader sailing community as a whole.”
Entries to the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship are still open.
