The Association of Yacht Support Services (AYSS), the only worldwide superyacht support network, is inviting superyacht captains and crew to show off their creative flair in their newly launched global drone video competition – “Love From Above”.
The 2024 AYSS Drone Competition “Love from Above” aims to remind us that the world of superyachts is not just about adventure, innovation, luxury and travel but also the community-focused moments and memorable experiences on offer.
From panoramic flyovers to filming the magnificence of a close encounter with wildlife, grab your drone and start filming! AYSS are looking for 30-second videos that reflect your yachting highlights, sharing the beauty of cityscapes, landscapes and seascapes you encounter on your voyages.
Industry-Leading Judges
With no category restrictions on subject matter, crew are encouraged to express their cinematic concepts and technical skills through their drone videos.
The impressive panel of judges includes Colin Squire (Founder of Colin Squire Publishing & SuperyachtCaptains.com), Jainie Cowham (Yacht Photographer & Videographer), Suki Finnerty (Owner of Yachting Today, Creative Director, Photographer & Videographer), Michael Kurtz (ex MD of Pantaenius Insurance, Yachting & Classic Car Racing Photographer) and Tom Serio (Freelance Yacht Photographer & Writer). They will judge all entries, with the winners announced at the annual Antigua Charter Yacht Show during the first week of December 2024.
A Competition Shaped By Captains and Crew
Captains and crew come from different backgrounds, different countries and different cultures, molding their perspectives. The launch of the AYSS Drone Competition is a testament to community belonging, the love of travel, and the creativity and skills of crew.
The contest is an opportunity for crew to let the world around them take centre stage says Adam Tarleton, Co-Founder of Brazil Yacht Services and past Chairman AYSS. “The “Love From Above” competition focuses on the view from your yacht, celebrating the locations that the superyacht community is so fortunate to enjoy and which bring lasting memories and lifetime friendships in this truly global and nomadic industry. Each year more yachts reach more destinations, so let’s make a record of now for those who follow in this lifestyle, remembering that it is the ‘Agents of Excellence’ in the background who ease the way to make it happen.”
How To Enter
