ATL Composites preparing for AWBF 2025

Celebrating 45 years in business in Australia in 2025, ATL Composites will attend the Australian Wooden Boat Festival, 7 to 10 February 2025 as an exhibitor and proud sponsor.

ATL Composites has been a long-time supporter of the biannual AWBF and attends each event with the aim of reconnecting with customers and industry.

In 2025, ATL will partner with Norman R. Wright & Sons in a stand showcasing WEST SYSTEM products and the range from EPIFANES Yacht Coatings, which ATL represents in Australia.

“In the 80s, wooden boat construction was the original industry our company was established on,” explained ATL Composites Director, Lorraine Duckworth.

“As the licenced manufacture of WEST SYSTEM epoxy which was, at the time and still remains to this day, recognised as the leading epoxy range used for wooden boat construction worldwide, we were able to introduce the latest technology in epoxy to the Australian market.”

“Through the years, we have had continued to expand our knowledge to provide our customers with reliable, high-quality products and technical support for wooden boat construction, repair and restoration.”

“We look forward to catching up with our Tasmanian and interstate customers and making new contacts in the boat building industry. We have several customers who will exhibit boats on water that have been built or restored with WEST SYSTEM Epoxy and EPIFANES varnishes. Visitors can see firsthand the strength and finishes that can be achieved.”

“And of course, our Technical Team will be manning the stand in the Pavilion to show you our products and answer questions, and to provide technical advice on the best options to use on your project.”

Held every two years at Franklin Wharf in Hobart and celebrating the rich heritage, craftsmanship, and culture associated with wooden boats, the festival was founded in 1994. The four-day event presents the largest and most beautiful collection of wooden boats in the southern hemisphere and attracts a diverse range of enthusiasts, including boat builders, artisans, sailmakers and visitors from around the world.

In 2025, the theme is “New Zealand and the Pacific Ocean”, shining a spotlight on the rich maritime legacy spanning the region from Japan to the west coast of the USA, and across the vast expanse of Pacific Islands leading to Australia. Several significant vessels from Hawaii, New Zealand and Asia will be on show.

Vessels ashore will be displayed across the festival grounds, including within City Hall, which, following its successful integration in the 2023 program, offers an impressive venue for dinghies, kayaks and sailboats in all their rigging on show for visitors to appreciate.
