After an exciting launch at Boot Düsseldorf, earlier this year, Expedition Zero continues its path towards building the world’s first fleet of “Net Zero” sailing yachts, specifically designed for commercial offshore adventure.
Plans are already well advanced for the commercial prototype of the yacht, which features innovative, low-impact, fully recyclable materials, eschewing traditional synthetic fibres like fibreglass. Coupled with the latest in electric propulsion technology and powered entirely by natural elements – sun, sea and wind – this yacht is designed for worldwide operation with zero fossil fuel use, offering an unprecedented minimal environmental footprint.
The market for these yachts is significant, with the spend on Adventure tourism expected to top $1 Trillion in the next five years – Expedition Zero will ensure this demand for exploration can be met with purpose designed yachts that respect fragile eco-systems, allowing new worldwide sailing destinations to be unlocked responsibly.
Production facilities for the first yacht have already been completed by build partner, Innovation Yachts. Expedition Zero is now completing the design phase using investment already secured and is planning first production on the closing of it’s current investment round later this year.
