Two men have been rescued after their boat ran aground on rocks in water off Southport in Tasmania over the weekend.
Police, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, were called to the scene after the boat foundered on rocks at Rossel Point near Southport about 4.30pm Saturday.
Two men managed to climb onto nearby rocks and were rescued a short time later.
There are no reported injuries.
Police would like to thank the recreational boat users who stayed near the scene while emergency services responded.
“This is a good reminder to all boat users that sea conditions can change quickly,” said Inspector Mathew Adams.
“It’s also important for people to wear approved life jackets, and to ensure they are properly fitted.”
