Australian Sailing is excited to announce applications for the Whitworths Tackers Boat Program and the new EziOpti Green Fleet Boat Loan Program are now open.
Whitworths Tackers Boat Program
The Whitworths Tackers initiative has long supported Discover Sailing Centres (DSCs) in being able to deliver Tackers programs and grow participation in sailing by financially assisting DSCs to buy Tackers vessels thanks to the Whitworths and OziOpti partnership.
Through the program, Whitworths will sponsor 50% of the Tackers boats with OziOpti granting a further 7.5% discount. As a result, successful Discover Sailing Centres will have the opportunity to acquire Tackers boats at a total price of $1,248.75 (GST and shipping excluded) per vessel.
All Tackers boats will have the Whitworths logo imposed on the sail.
Boats available for purchase are limited and the following criteria will be taken into consideration when reviewing applications:
- Strategies to market and promote the Tackers program
- The projected increase in participant numbers
- Confirmed sailing pathway within the club
- Previously supplied loans within the state of application
- Location in relation to a Whitworths store

New EziOpti Green Fleet Boat Loan Program
With the aim of retaining kids from Tackers programs into club Green Fleet programs this year we’re thrilled to announce a boat loan program from OziOpti called EziOpti. The boat loan program offers the selected clubs the opportunity to loan the EziOpti dinghies to participants moving into Green Fleet. The loan is for up to 6-months. The benefits of the loan program include;
- Retention of sailors from Tackers to club participation programs
- Clubs supporting participants toward boat ownership
- Supports clubs on how it’s recommended green fleet is offered to participants, through club and privately owned equipment.
The 6-month loan from EziOpti to clubs is limited to the following considerations when reviewing applications
- The club must deliver Tackers Programs
- The club delivers Green Fleet in the upcoming season
- Confirmed sailing pathway within the club
