The Boating Industry Association of Victoria has announced that it is delighted to learn that The Hon. Sonya Kilkenny, will continue as Minister for Fishing and Boating in the re-elected state government.
BIAV CEO, Steve Walker, welcomes the premier’s decision, noting Sonya’s commencement in the role late in the previous term and her immediate intent with regard to delivering upon the Better Boating Victoria plan to make boating better in Victoria. As member for Carrum, now for a third term, the minister is well versed with boat ramp needs, hosting Port Phillip’s number one access point, Launching Way boating facility. We look forward to continuing working with The Hon. Sonya Kilkenny and supporting her as minister to achieve great outcomes for boating.
The previous minister for boating and fishing, The Hon. Melissa Horne, will also take on a suite of portfolios in the new government, one being as Minister for Ports and we look forward to working with her in this area.
