AMSA included on the DCA’s Inclusive Employer list
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has announced it is now on the Diversity Council of Australia’s (DCA) list of inclusive employers for 2022-2023.
Every year, Australian organisations can participate in DCA’s Inclusive Employers Index, which enables them to measure diversity and inclusion in their workforce and compare findings to the DCA’s national benchmarks.
AMSA CEO, Mick Kinley, said this is a fantastic result and provides great information to help us to improve further.
“Only 30 employers made it onto the DCA’s Index for 2022-2023, so we are very excited to be included in the first year we have participated in the process.”
“I am very proud to lead an organisation with a commitment to diversity and inclusion and look forward to our continued work to ensure we meet and exceed the national benchmarks set by the DCA,” he said.
AMSA is one of only four government agencies to be included on the list, and the only maritime organisation to do so.
To be deemed eligible as an Inclusive Employer 2022-2023, participating DCA members must:
- invite at least 60% of their employees to participate in the DCA survey
- show that they are active and committed to inclusion by achieving results that exceed the DCA’s national benchmarks on at least five out of six of the following measures: awareness; engagement; inclusive organisational climate; inclusive leadership; inclusive team; exclusion.
