Poseidon Marine H2 releases early-stage images of finite element analysis

Poseidon Marine H2 has released early-stage images of the finite element analysis its technical partner, Dynamic Efficiency, has engaged Avesta Consulting to conduct.

The finite element analysis will generate a computerised model that predicts how the company’s revolutionary marine technology will react to real-world hydrodynamic loads, impact forces and other physical effects.

Once complete, Poseidon Marine H2 will have a digitised proof of concept for their technical solution that will allow boats to operate on diesel and hydrogen fuels.

“This is extremely exciting”, says Poseidon Marine H2’s Director & Principal Engineer, Peter Mastalir. “The initial results have shown that through our design, we will be able to build a better boat that has an equivalent operational range, requires less maintenance and is cheaper to run than traditional engines.”

Due to be completed by the end of September, the finite element analysis will also allow the company to secure insurance certification from Bureau Veritas and a provisional patent, which will provide the basis to negotiate offtake agreements with large boat manufacturers.

“We have received very positive feedback from the market about our technology that will allow boats to run on current and future refuelling infrastructure. We anticipate we will be able to secure substantial contracts with defence forces, ferry operators, police bodies and other major maritime sectors around the world.”

Poseidon Marine H2 will begin building their prototype vessel in early 2023, which will be supported through its strategic partnership with Griffith University, which they expect to be in the water by Q3 2023.
