Boaties & fishers proving super keen for 2022 Hutchwilco NZ Boat Show. Kiwi boaties and fishers from all around the country appear keener than ever as the 2022 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show approaches.

Sales of online tickets, which double visitors’ chances of winning the stunning $280,000 Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize, are at record levels. With stand-space sales also well above expectations the 2022 show, at the Auckland Showgrounds on May 12-15, is looking to be one of the very best.

In addition to the chance to see all the latest boats, engines, electronics, accessories, and fishing and diving gear, all visitors to this year’s show will be able to enter the draw for the amazing must-be-won Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize. Worth over $280,000, this incredible prize includes a Surtees 7.5-metre 750 Game Fisher enclosed cabin (featuring the company’s renowned Surtees SiQ™ technology package), an all-new Yamaha F250 V6 DES Offshore series engine, Yamaha’s Helm Master EX control system, a custom braked tandem Hosking Trailer and a full suite of Garmin electronics.

Decked out with an eye-catching wrap from Brave Design, the Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize comes complete with literally everything the lucky winner will need to safely and comfortably go boating anywhere around our coast. Popular Master Class returns

The 2022 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show will again host the super-popular Master Class series of free fishing seminars. Featuring top fishing experts showcasing the clever, new fishing techniques, sharing their most effective tips, and demonstrating the latest fishing gear, this year’s topics include Mastering Slow Pitch Jigging, Modern Gamefishing Techniques, Better Understanding Your Sounder, and Getting Into Spearfishing. Experts will also focus on kayak fishing, drone fishing, and much, much more.

The 2022 show will also introduce the exciting new Fishing and Adventure Kids’ Club Experience. Hosted by Scott Parry, Mig Rumney and the crew from the hit Fishing and Adventure TV series, the new Kids’ Club Experience is suitable for children of all ages. It will include loads of fun activities and every kid who joins the Club at the show will go into a special Okuma draw to win the ultimate fishing trip with Scott and Mig onboard the team’s new Holy Ship.

Haswing Trolling Motor Challenge

This year’s show will also feature the new Haswing Trolling Motor Challenge. Held in the Hutchwilco Pool, the Challenge will see members of the public competing to complete a course in the fastest time, using a Zodiac inflatable powered by a Haswing electric trolling motor.

The winner will receive a prize pack from Haswing’s New Zealand distributors, Lusty & Blundell Ltd. Valued at $5000 it consists of a 2m Zodiac Cadet Aero Floor, Haswing Gen 1.5 Trolling Motor and Sterling Power AMPS lithium battery, along with two Spinlock Alto Belt Packs and a Raymarine merchandise bag filled with goodies. Registrations will also be accepted at the L&B/Raymarine caravan, alongside the Hutchwilco Pool, for any time slots are still available.

Other prizes

Visitors to the show will also be able to win a number of other great prizes, too. Viking Kayaks will be giving away two of their famous 2+1 kayaks on each of the four days of the show. Worth over $2000 each, these are incredibly versatile, double-seat family kayaks that are quick and easy to paddle with one or two on-board. A clever mid seat makes it safe and easy to add a child, too.

SplashDrone distributors, JCMatthew have a complete SplashDrone 4 bundle to give away from their stand. Worth $5269, it consists of a SplashDrone 4, a Payload Release, a GC3-S 4k 3-axis camera, an extra pair of propellors, and an extra battery.

Coastguard auction

As part of the show’s strong partnership with Coastguard, there will again be a live auction, outside the Hall 2 foyer, at 1pm on Saturday, May 14. All proceeds raised at the auction will go direct to Coastguard and the products being auctioned, along with a brief description and their usual retail price, will be on display in the Hall 2 foyer and listed on the show’s website (www.boatshow.co.nz).

Those who buy their tickets online (at www.boatshow.co.nz) will receive a second, bonus entry into the Grand Prize draw. They will also automatically go into the draw for a fully kitted-out top-of-the-line powered Viking fishing kayak worth over $8000.

The 2022 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show at the Auckland Showgrounds runs from May 12-15 and is open 10am-6pm daily with a late night on Friday until 9pm. Admission for adults is $25 (with tickets available online (at www.boatshow.co.nz) or at the gate. Children 16 and under are free.
