After announcing the postponement of the 2022 Southern 80 only weeks ago, the Moama Water Sports were thrilled to announce that they have been able to successfully secure a date – the 13th to the 15th May 2022.
President Steve Shipp thanked Ski Racing Australia and the other ski racing events for working with the Moama Water Sports Club to acquire this date.
Planning will now continue. We will reopen entries, make contact with sponsors, suppliers and community groups to confirm their support. We will meet with Emergency Services Group to ensure planning for our new event date.
The club will be in contact with the competitors this week to confirm their entries and participation in the new date.
Those spectators who have pre-purchased tickets they will transfer to the new date or they can request a refund.
Minister for Tourism and Sport Stuart Ayres said, “The Southern 80 is an internationally recognised water-skiing event that provides a great boost to the visitor economy of the Echuca-Moama region. I commend the determination of the organisers and thank all stakeholders for their cooperation to ensure this signature regional NSW event gets back on the water in 2022.”
